Who can apply?

     Business visas are granted to:

  • Scientists, professors, researchers, participants in cultural, technological or scientific missions;
  • Scientists, technicians, researchers or volunteers under the aegis of an international cooperation program;
  • Interns and other unpaid trainees, bearers of scholarships for professional practice in Brazil;
  • Exchange students;
  • Technicians receiving training in the operation and maintenance of machinery or equipment produced in Brazil;
  • Amateur athletes, under 21 year of age, participating in training programs in Brazil.
  • Travelers with business purposes, except when the trip involves the provision of services of any nature in Brazil (in which case a Vitem V is mandatory). Business visas are issued to business travelers who possess signed import/export contracts or who are traveling to visit companies or make commercial contacts;
  • Media coverage or filming;
  • Flight/ship crew members not holding an international crew card. and
  • Adoption of a Brazilian child.

Business visa holders are not allowed to engage in any paid activity in Brazil.

How to apply?

     To apply for a business visa you must come in person to the Consulate General and present the following documents in original and copy to the Consular Section :

1/ Passport with a minimum validity of six months (and at least a couple of blank visa pages available);
2/ One visa application form per applicant. (28 January, 2010)

     * It is highly recommended you to fill in the "On-Line Form" here or https://scedv.serpro.gov.br before submitting your application to the Consulate.

     * After duly filled in the "On-Line Form" please write down the reference number or print the completed form and sign on it.

     * You may consult your visa application status at https://scedv.serpro.gov.br.
3/ One recent identity photo (white background);
4/ A company letter with bank endorsement;
5/ An invitation letter from a Brazilian company containing its Registry number (CNPJ);
6/ Round-trip ticket or in-transit ticket (required upon visa approval, but before issuance);
7/ Proof of accommodation (hotel address or friend's address);
8/ Payment of consular fee of HK$600 (after documentation check, payable at bank );
9/ Third-person, if applicable (additional charge of HK$200). (28 January, 2010)
