Who can apply?
Tourist visas are granted for:
- Tourism trip;
- Visit to relatives and/or friends;
- Scientists, professors or researchers attending cultural, technological or scientific conferences, seminars or meetings (without any pay from firms or entities based in Brazil, except for
per diem or expense reimbursement);
- Participation in artistic or amateur sport competitions, whenever no monetary prize or paid admission is involved.
Please note that tourist visa holders are not allowed to engage in any paid activity in Brazil.
How to Apply?
To apply for a tourist visa you must come in person to the Consulate
General and present the following documents in original and copy to the Consular Section:
1/ Passport with a minimum validity of six months (and at least a couple of blank visa pages available);
2/ One visa application form per applicant (28 January, 2010).

3/ One recent identity photo (white
background);
4/ A leave letter from the employer;
5/ Proof of financial means (bank book or last three months bank statement);
6/ Round-trip ticket or in-transit ticket (required upon visa approval, but before issuance);
7/ Indication of accommodation (hotel address or friend's address);
8/ Payment of consular fee between HK$200 and HK$1,500 (after documentation check and payable at bank);
9/ Third-person, if applicable (additional charge of HK$200) (28 January,
2010).
No visa applications will be processed by mail
